More than 3,000 registered municipal fisherfolk in Eastern Visayas will each receive a Php3,000 fuel subsidy through the Fuel Discount for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (FDFFP), amounting to a total of Php9.4 million in fuel assistance this 2025

The distribution of beneficiaries per province is as follows: Biliran – 381, Northern Samar – 394, Eastern Samar – 496, Samar – 558, Southern Leyte – 735, and Leyte – 576.
Qualified beneficiaries are advised to proceed to the nearest Universal Storefront Services Corporation (USSC) office to undergo the Know-Your-Client (KYC) process for the issuance of their respective fuel discount cards. Previously, BFAR 8 conducted cluster caravans in Eastern Samar and Leyte to expedite the processing of these cards. Virtual KYC has also been conducted by USSC in coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs) and BFAR 8 to facilitate a more efficient application process.
Fisherfolk registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), the Municipal Fisherfolk Registry (FishR), or the Boat and Municipal Fishing Boats and Gears Registration (BoatR) are eligible for the program, with priority given to marginalized and low-income fisherfolk. Interested beneficiaries may visit their respective Municipal Agriculture Offices and BFAR Provincial Fisheries Offices (PFOs) for further information and clarification.
