Continually extending assistance to marginalized fisherfolk in the region through the Fuel Discount for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (FDFFP) Tranche 3, a total of 15,713 registered municipal fisherfolk in EV will be receiving fuel subsidies worth Php3,000 each this 2025, amounting to Php47,139,000 in total

Qualified fisherfolk are advised to proceed to the nearest Universal Storefront Services Corporation (USSC) branch to undergo the Know-Your-Client (KYC) process, where they will provide personal information and supporting documents to confirm their eligibility. This step ensures fair distribution of the subsidy and prevents fraudulent claims.
BFAR 8 will coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs) to post and disseminate the official list of qualified beneficiaries per municipality, as well as assist in facilitating their visits to USSC branches for KYC.
To qualify for the FDFFP, beneficiaries must be registered in the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA) and listed in the Farmers and Fisherfolk Registry System (FFRS), with prior registration in Fisherfolk Registration System (FishR). They must also use motorized boats three (3) gross tons and below that are registered in BoatR, and practice only legal fishing methods and gears.
Region 8 is among the top three (3) regions in the country with the largest allocation of beneficiaries under the Fuel Discount for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (FDFFP). The program has already supported 5,898 beneficiaries under Tranche 1 and 3,140 beneficiaries under Tranche 2, with additional beneficiaries currently being processed under Tranche 3. This brings the total number of beneficiaries to 24,751, representing Php74.2 million worth of fuel subsidies extended to fisherfolks in the region.
